Mario is a native of The Netherlands and graduated in 1986 from The Twentse Academie voor Fysiotherapie. He received his manual therapy certification (MTC) from the University of St. Augustine in Florida in 1992. He co-started Axis Physical Therapy at the end of 1997, after gaining much experience as a traveling rehab director, as well as spending 5 years in private practice in the Netherlands. He maintains a strong interest in manual and orthopedic/sports physical therapy as well as lymphedema care. He has been working full-time in our Salinas office since 1997.
Carey is a native Vermonter who received her BA degree from Duke University in 1999 and her DPT from University of Vermont in 2011. She completed her professional training with internships at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn, MA and Children's Hospital of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. She is thrilled to be starting her physical therapy career on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula at Axis Physical Therapy. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, yoga and exploring the Peninsula.
